I am the decider of plots
I am the maker of dreams
I am the mother of characters
I make it to be not what it seems
I am the one who makes history
I am the one who gives names
I am the creator of memories
I am the one who no one blames
Irony is my middle name
Novelist is my title
Suspense taught me all I know
And poetry is my idol
My pen is my sword
Paper is my shield
Ink runs in my blood
I make writers block yield
I rule my own worlds
With my partner Imagination
And I know that my words
Will survive until the last generation

The Journey
Beneath my skin, my veins pulse with desire
To know why I am here.
As I journey to find the answers to life,
I sail through the monotonous seas
That stretch forever beyond the horizon.
As my ship sails towards the dry land,
Mountains tower before me,
Filling me with both awe and intimidation.
But the mountains are eroding as time passes by,
Into merely fragments of what they once were.
I move my eyes and watch the glaciers
Melt slowly into rivers.
But even though they disappear,
They melt to provide water for all life on this planet.
You could say rivers are created by glaciers for a purpose.

And tried to climb
The sun's golden bars
But those rays of light
Cut short my flight
I reached for the stars
And fell from the sky
My hopes now scars
I can't justify
To myself alone
I am she who has flown
I tried to climb
Like Icarus the son
Melted wax come noontime
With nothing won
No promises made
No trophies gained

Whose sentinels maintained
The ghosts of Mars
Those who remain
Close to my heart
Forever apart
The rays of light
Have faded away
The moon now night
Where the world decays
And I'm still fading
